Steenrod Welcomes Bil Lepp!

The Steenrod PTA Enrichment Committee is proud to welcome West Virginia Author Bil Lepp.  He is the author of The King of Little Things. He will be presenting to the students this Friday!

Silly Sock Day to Kick off Book Fair and American Education Week

We are getting really excited for our Scholastic Book Fair "Sir Readalot's Castle, Enter the Kingdom of Books" – which will take place the week of November 17-21, 2014!   To help “kick” off the celebration, we will be having Silly Sock Day on Friday, November 14, 2014.

 

For a donation to One for Books, students will be allowed to wear Silly Socks to school (with shoes of course…)

The Scholastic BOOK FAIR will take place Monday November 17- Friday, November 21.

This year we can also order books online...  that will start on November 12 and conclude December 2.  
Think - Holiday Shopping that the kids cannot see!

Steenrod PTA’s Enrichment Committee is thrilled to announce that WV author, Bil Lepp, will be visiting Steenrod on November 14th. He will be entertaining all of the students with his amazing story telling ability!

If you would like to pre-order a copy of his book, please see the attachment below.  (Checks made payable to: Bil Lepp) 
All orders must be received by Monday, November 10th.

Reflections Entries Due November 7

Entries Due November 7, 2014

It is time for the National PTA's Reflections Program.  This is an arts recognition and achievement program for students.  Participating in the Reflections Program is an opportunity for students to explore and learn about various art forms and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness of the importance of the arts in education.  All students are invited to participate.

Christmas Stockings Due November 7!

If you signed up to fill a stocking for Operation Christmas Stocking, the stockings are due 
StockingNovember 7, 2014!

A few things to remember...
  • After filling, the stocking should be stitched or pinned closed. 
  • Please send in $2 (or more) with each stocking (if you are able), to help cover the cost of shipping.  Checks can be made to Boatsie's Boxes.
  • There are boxes located outside of the office to place the filled stockings.
